Theme: It is almost universally recognized by
both Muslims and non-Muslims that one of the greatest
contribution of Islam is its' legal system, a discursive
tradition that has become both adaptive and timeless.
Yet, many Muslims are unaware that the process of expounding
the legal principles of the Qur'an and Sunnah into a codified
system of law lagged far behind the social and political
exigencies the law was meant to cover. Moreover, the stories

Refund policy: Cancellations requiring refunds will
be according to the following policy. Full refunds will
be awarded until 12/31/08, or if your application
has not been accepted. After 12/31/08, 50% of the
tuition paid will be refunded. After 1/5/09 no refunds will
be awarded.
Babysitting: Sat/Sun $25/child/day, Fri/Mon
$15/child/day. Must pre-register for babysitting by 1/10/09.
Lodging: Arrangements have
been made with the University of Houston - Hilton to provide
a discout rate to all of the ALIM attendees.
