Winter Program Scholars and Instructors
- Dr.
Abdul-Hakim Jackson - has a Ph.D. in Islamic Studies
from the University of Pennsylvania and also studied from
Al-Azhar University in Cairo Egypt. He is currently a Professor
for the Near Eastern Studies at the University of Michigan.
- Dr.
Muneer Fareed - has a Ph.D. in Islamic Studies, studied
for 5 years at Umm al-Quraa (Makkah), and obtained his 'Ijaza
in Classical Islamic Studies at Dar' al 'U'lum in Deoband.
- Imam Zaid Shakir
- has a M. A. in Political Science from Rutgers University,
and has spent over 7 years studying Syria and Morocco, graduating
from Abu Noor University in 2001.
- Dr.
Umar Faruq Abd-Allah - has a Ph.D. in Islamic Studies
from the University of Chicago. He spent 16 years teaching
Islamic studies as well as Comparative Religion in the King
Abdul Aziz University (Jeddah, Saudi Arabia), and is currently
the Chairman and Scholar-in-Residence at the Nawawi Foundation
